According to Joystiq, EA acquired Playfish, social game company.

There was some rumor that EA will purchase some Social Game Company, as Zynga or Playfish, however the result became Playfish. And Playfish is 2nd. developer in the scene, according to appdata, even if Zynga is much bigger.

According to rumor, 250 million$ was paid to purchase. And according to belief of  Inside Social Games, 75 million$ revenue in this year alone. Wow.

Not sure what will happen next. EA got Pogo long ago, and Pogo was good for several years. And they will use Playfish as next Pogo? Not sure, however seems to be interesting. (EA admits Social Game as new gold-earning-market!)

P.S. : And what will Activision do?

P.S. 2 : I noticed it's 10 days ago. Maybe I can't call it news. However, I'd just post. :)
